Overview
The Monarch, also known as SJW, is a Secret-tier unit added in Update 33. He is obtained by evolving The Weakest Hunter.
Upon being placed, the user has to choose one of three paths for The Monarch: Summoner, Assassin, and Commander. Each path has their own traits, effects and/or attacks.
Attacks
Summoner
Upon choosing the summoner path, The Monarch will instead be turned into "The Monarch (Summoner)".
The Monarch (Summoner) does not attack. Instead, he is a support unit that causes shadow soldiers to spawn when an enemy dies (not from status effects). The summoned soldiers' health is based on how much health the mob that died had and SJW's level.
Assassin
Upon choosing the assassin path, The Monarch will instead be turned into "The Monarch (Assassin)".
Base Attack
Upgrade 1-4
The Monarch (Assassin) will attack by throwing a flurry of poison slashes at the enemy's position. This attack is circle AOE, dealing damage to all the enemies in its radius, hits once and applies 2 stacks of Poisoned.
Upgrade 5-6
The Monarch (Assassin) will attack by summoning a rain of poisonous blades onto the enemy's position. This attack is circle AOE, dealing damage to all the enemies in its radius, hits 8 times and applies 2 stacks of Poisoned.
Passives
(UPG 1-4): The Monarch assassinates normal enemies when their remaining health pool is 20% and below and for bosses The Monarch assassinates when they have 7.5% health and below.
Commander
Upon choosing the Commander path, The Monarch will instead be turned into "The Monarch (Commander)".
The commander path allows for two powerful units to spawn beside The Monarch. When The Monarch (Commander) is upgraded to Level 2, Iggie will spawn on his left; When he is upgraded to Level 3, Belleyon will spawn on his right. These units are upgradeable, but they are not affected by The Monarch (Commander)'s trait. Iggie applies the Bleed DoT and Belleyon applies the Electrified DoTTips
- Due to The Monarch's large range in his assassin path, it is best utilized when he is paired with Golden Drago. Placed in the middle of a map with the Golden Drago's Blessing, The Monarch's range will span most of the map if not entirely.
- In Dungeon Mode, choosing the commander path is a wiser option if The Monarch is not a high level nor has the Savior trait. Iggie and Belleyon will have much higher DPS for their upgrade price than the assassin path.
- Discounted is the best trait for the monarchs Commander, and Summoner path. These two paths are not affected by traits that buff/nerf damage.
- Savior is the best trait for usage of assassin path.
- The monarchs Cup of reincarnation can be bought for 1.8k gems at the Wandering trader shop next to the alchemist which is located near classic game mode.
Trivia
- The Monarch is based on the older version of the character Sung Jinwoo from the Korean webtoon series Solo Leveling.
